Welcome to the LumiMD blog

Notes from the team on building a calmer way to manage your health — and the people who help you do it.

We started LumiMD with a simple observation: the hardest part of a doctor's visit is everything that happens after it.

The appointment ends, you walk to the parking lot, and within minutes the details start to blur. What did she say about the new medication? Was it twice a day or once? Did we talk about the follow-up labs, or did I imagine that? Studies suggest up to 80% of what's discussed in a medical visit is forgotten almost immediately — and roughly half of what's remembered gets remembered wrong.

That's the gap LumiMD is built to close.

Why we're writing this blog

We're going to use this space to share the things you can't usually see from the outside of a product:

We'll try to keep it honest, short, and useful. No hype. No marketing filler. Just the thinking behind the product.

What we believe

A few convictions shape everything we do:

  1. Notes, not recordings. LumiMD listens during your visit so you don't have to take notes — but the value isn't the audio. It's the clear, plain-language summary you walk away with.
  2. Caregivers are part of the care team. Whether it's a spouse, an adult child, or a professional, the person helping you manage your health deserves real tools — not a group text thread.
  3. Calm beats clever. A health app shouldn't make you feel more anxious than you already do. Everything we design is tuned for someone who's tired, worried, and just wants to know what to do next.

What's next

More posts coming soon — on how the app actually works under the hood, what we're hearing from early users, and how we think about privacy and AI in a health context. If you're reading this, thank you for being here.

If you want to try the app, create your account. If you're a caregiver, the portal is live.
